Event Overview:

In this webinar, presenters from Agilent will introduce the new Advanced Dilution System (ADS 2) which is entirely designed and manufactured by Agilent for use with ICP-OES and ICP-MS instruments. The combination of an instrument, automatic diluter, switching valve, and autosampler offers the highest level of automation for ICP analyses. The ADS 2 is particularly useful for laboratories performing routine analysis of a large number of samples from different matrices, where analyte concentrations can vary significantly. The automatic diluter simplifies some operations, including:

  • Automatic preparation of calibration standards from a stock solution;
  • Preventive dilution of samples before analysis;
  • Reactive dilution of samples where one or more elements have exceeded calibration ranges.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Automate your workflow to enhance analytical performance
  • Increase sample throughput using an advanced dilution system
  • Simplify your liquid sample handling
  • Automate calibration preparation

Who Should Attend:

  • Laboratory managers seeking to enhance operational efficiency
  • Analytical chemists and technicians in environmental testing fields
  • Quality assurance and control specialists focused on improving analytical accuracy
  • Environmental scientists interested in cutting-edge laboratory technologies

Speakers:

Andrea Carcano
Atomic Product Specialist
Agilent Technologies

Andrea Carcano studied at the University of Insubria and obtained a degree in biology in 2001 and a PhD in 2005. He worked for five years at CNR Laboratory as researcher in the field of chemical monitoring of large deep lakes and atmospheric depositions at Italian level. For more than 15 years, he has held the role of Atomic Spectroscopy Product Specialist (AA, ICP-OES and ICP-MS) at Agilent Technologies Italia. In recent years, he has gained technical and application experience with ICP-OES and ICP-MS hardware and software platforms, participating in all introductions of new products and technologies on the market.

Andrew Brotherhood
Atomic Spectroscopy Application Specialist
Agilent Technologies

Andrew Brotherhood has over 15 years of hands-on experience with ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and ion chromatography instrumentation. He has mainly worked in the pharmaceutical analysis industry, gaining significant experience with developing and validating methods for pharma regulations. Andrew started working for Agilent in January of 2018 as Atomic Spectroscopy Application Specialist based at the Agilent Centre of Excellence in the UK.

Sonia North
Atomic Spectroscopy Application Specialist
Agilent Technologies

Sonia North joined Agilent in 2014 as a field service engineer working mainly on the ICP-MS and ICP-OES portfolio in addition to delivering ICP-MS training to customers in the UK. Prior to that, she worked in a UKAS-, MHRA-, and FDA-regulated contract analytical laboratory, focusing on developing methods for the 7700 and 8800 ICP-MS systems and training new operators.
