SCIEX Announces Multiple Product Launches at ASMS 2024
SCIEX launched the SCIEX 7500+ system, the newest mass spectrometer in the SCIEX quantitative portfolio, at ASMS 2024 in Anaheim, California earlier this month (1). While sensitivity is critical to solve the most impactful analytical challenges, scientists are under pressure to meet deadlines faster and to quantify from increasingly various and complex sample types. The 7500+ system delivers both sensitivity and resilience. The novel mass guard technology maintains high sensitivity for up to 2x longer relative to existing technology, allowing users to harness sensitive quantitation across a wide variety of complex sample types with reduced risk of downtime.
The company also introduced the ZT Scan DIA for liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), promoting it as the next generation in data-independent acquisition (DIA) (2). This technology leverages the combination of the quadrupole dimension with the rich MS2 data attainable from the Zeno trap. Quantitative outcomes can be achieved at 3X the speed of conventional DIA approaches from SCIEX, and can inform critical decisions during biomarker research, analysis of low protein load and large-scale protein quantitation.
SCIEX also announced a partnership with Mass Analytica and introduced AI Quant software as part of the SCIEX OS ecosystem (3). The company reported that this software leverages the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to expedite data processing, enabling scientists to gain valuable insights within moments. By automating certain tasks, it not only saves operator time, but also enhances overall productivity. With AI Quant software, laboratories can conveniently process data from their SCIEX nominal mass, accurate mass, and Echo MS+ systems on a unified platform, while benefiting from a customizable and standardized data output.
ClearPoint Neuro Announces Full Market Release of SmartFrame OR and ClearPoint PRISM 3T Laser Therapy System
ClearPoint Neuro announced the full market release of its SmartFrame OR platform and ClearPoint Prism Neuro Laser Therapy System at the Biennial Meeting of the American Society of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (June 1-4, 2024, Nashville, Tennessee).
The SmartFrame Array offers stability and flexibility for neuro navigation, with a highly rigid frame and an array of six offset channels to simplify multi-trajectory procedures and entry point adjustments (5). The Array software provides an intuitive user interface, with options for performing entire procedures in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or starting in the operating room. The ClearPoint Prism Neuro Laser Therapy System is indicated for use to necrotize or coagulate soft tissue through interstitial irradiation or thermal therapy under MRI guidance in medicine and surgery in neurosurgery for a wavelength of 1064nm (6).
