Leading chromatography scientists from several major pharmaceutical companies will gather at the Radisson Plaza -- Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia for the SFC 2009 Conference from July 22 to July 23, 2009.
SFC (Supercritical Fluid Chromatography) is an environmentally friendly chemical research and development method promoted by the Green Chemistry Group (Oakmont, Pennsylvania), organizers of this meeting. Increasingly adopted by pharmaceutical companies worldwide, this technology is applied in drug discovery and purification processes.
James Waters, founder of Waters Corporation, will serve as chairman of the conference. There will be an exhibition, a scientific program, and workshops. For more information, visit www.greenchemistrygroup.org.

LIBS Illuminates the Hidden Health Risks of Indoor Welding and Soldering
April 23rd 2025A new dual-spectroscopy approach reveals real-time pollution threats in indoor workspaces. Chinese researchers have pioneered the use of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) and aerosol mass spectrometry to uncover and monitor harmful heavy metal and dust emissions from soldering and welding in real-time. These complementary tools offer a fast, accurate means to evaluate air quality threats in industrial and indoor environments—where people spend most of their time.
