Company Description

Since its founding in 1981, Teledyne Leeman Labs has been an innovator in atomic spectroscopy and introduced many concepts that are now considered industry standards. Among these was the first use of an Echelle spectrometer and the first fully automated mercury analyzer. As a leading supplier of instruments for elemental analysis, we take great pride in the quality and value of our products and the depth of our commitment to our customers.

Chief Spectroscopic Techniques Supported

  • Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectrometers

  • DC Arc spectrometers

  • Mercury analysis of liquids, solids, and semi solids via cold vapor atomic absorption or atomic fluorescence

Markets Served

Teledyne Leeman Lab's products are used in applications essential to QA/QC, environmental analysis, research and development, and commercial production. They are used in many industries including: aerospace, agriculture, automotive, beverage, biofuels, electronics, energy, environmental and contract labs, gas, food and food processing, forensics, geological, metals production, mining, nuclear, petrochemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, wastewater, and wear metals and oils.

Major Products/Services

Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometers (ICP): Prodigy ICP line is our most powerful and versatile ICP spectrometer. It brings together a state of the art large format, programmable array detector (L-PAD) with an advanced high dispersion Echelle spectrometer to provide exceptional analytical performance.

Mercury Analysis: The Hydra II AA and C and QuickTrace™ 7600 and 8000 automated mercury analyzers operate on the principle of cold vapor atomic absorption (CVAAS) spectrometry or atomic fluorescence (CVAFS). The analyzers are used for the determination of mercury in a wide variety of liquid sample matrices including water, wastewater, urine, and blood. They can also be used to perform the direct analysis of mercury in solids and semi-solids such as soils, sludges, powders, foods without any sample preparation.

DC Arc Spectrometer: The Prodigy DC Arc spectrometer is specially designed for fast, quantitative analysis of elements in samples that are difficult, if not impossible, to dissolve or digest such as high purity metals. The Prodigy DC Arc analyzes elements at low to trace levels (sub ppm) in native solid materials without the need for time consuming, labor intensive sample preparation.
