Justin Cooper is a research assistant at the University of Utah (Salt Lake City, Utah), in the group of Professor Joel Harris. Cooper won a FACSS Innovation Award at the 2011 SciX conference for his presentation on using single-molecule fluorescence imaging to study the dynamics of molecular transport within chromatographic stationary phases.

The FACSS Innovation Awards were launched at the 2011 SciX conference to showcase the newest and most creative science debuted orally at the conference.

J. Cooper, E. Peterson, and J.M. Harris, “Single-Molecule Fluorescence Imaging Studies of Dynamic Processes in Reversed-Phase Chromatographic Materials,” paper presented at SciX 2011, Reno, Nevada, 2011.

More about the SciX conference:

The traditional North American meeting of FACSS is now SciX - The Great Scientific Exchange. SciX covers the whole of analytical chemistry with an emphasis on emerging technologies. SciX carries the FACSS tradition of a strong technical program (over 100 symposia), many prestigious awards, exhibits, a variety of workshops, an employment bureau and multiple social networking opportunities.

SciX is the National Meeting of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SAS).

For more information about the SciX 2012 conference in Kansas City, Missouri, September 30 to October 5, 2012, visit scixconference.org
